The light continues on inertially in a straight line as the device turns. The Coriolis effect is best shown he http://ww2010.atmos.uiuc.edu/(Gh)/gu...s/coriolis.mov but the principle is the same. In the Shapiro effect the Earth moves, producing a slight delay as the light follows a curved path in Earth's frame of reference. |
