Default why not unmanned pathfinders to moon

an innocent question

after tha successful pathfinders on mars there would been
a piece of cake landing a pathfinder on moon, much cheaper,
easier etc

you know, to take live pictures of the mounties, earth and so,
would been nice, yes, we could use a joystick to play arround
with that automobile tv camera

and revisiting the 40 years old landing bases, and all that
stuff and inscriptions they left overthere, are these still there?

Hitler got their first in 1927. The face on mars is a memorial to a German
astronaught.
