Default Is there a Quantum Mechanics group like this one?

Dear Ron Samon:

I recently starting reading some of the posts in this
group. As a physicist, I found them hilarious! In my
physics department we used to get letters from
kooks like the ones here, presenting their theories
and demanding to be published - and sometimes to
give lectures. We found that if we answered a letter,
even with a form letter, we had a pen pal -- so we
stopped acknowledging them. I guess they are all
on the web, now.

This newsgroup was unofficially started to act as a lightning rod
for the various anti-relativity communities. It helped take one
of the persistent topics out of other newsgroups. Jew haters,
diehard aetherists, diehard relativists, actual
scientists/researchers with nothing better to do (?), and the
"light is ballistic" crowd seems to bring a good population here.

Is there a simlilar kook group that 'disproves'
quantum mechanics? I haven't been able to find one.
Perhaps QM doesn't lend itself to kookery as
well as SR and GR.

There has been no need to start one, would be my guess. Not a
common enough theme to draw enough "moths" to do any good. No
there is plenty of poorly educated scorn piled on the doorsteps
of both quantum mechanics and string theory, both here and
sci.physics. Just have to tune your filters ...

Good luck.

David A. Smith
