Alas my typing and filing skills are not sufficient, although I've been told I have a pleasant telephone voice, certainly better than Hawking's. Commuting to Cambridge is not a pleasant prospect either, it would involve the Dartford crossing, the M25 and the M11. The Dartford crossing alone is daunting, £3.00 for cars each way, to say nothing of traffic snarls. No thanks, the job will probably go to a local secretary. Has his wife retired? Androcles |

He believes in black holes and relativity. Much discord and argument might ensue. It would be bad. The last time I spoke to him (1975) I offered him a beer but his bitchy first wife wheeled his gurney away. http://www.sussex.ac.uk/about/images...campus-map.jpg | Commuting to Cambridge is not a pleasant prospect either, | it would involve the Dartford crossing, the M25 and the M11. | The Dartford crossing alone is daunting, £3.00 for cars each way, | to say nothing of traffic snarls. | No thanks, the job will probably go to a local secretary. | | More likely nurse, I would think. Actually the ad said : Salary: £20,842-£23,457 "If you were accepted for the post you would be responsible for maintaining and improving this computer system as well as other pieces of support equipment. You would help him to prepare and deliver seminars and public lectures and assist with scientific papers. You would also accompany Professor Hawking on his many travels and assist other members of the group. Flexibility, stamina and a confident and caring personality, together with a valid driving licence, are essential for this demanding job." I would qualify for any of that except the caring personality, but he couldn't afford me to improve his computer, I'm not that cheap, and why the hell should I assist the other members of the group which I presume would include his nurse? I suppose I could send him my web pages as a resume... oops, curriculum vitae :-) "Applicants should send a covering letter, full CV and completed PD18 form and the names of two referees who can be contacted immediately." You'll be one of my referees, right? ROFL! | Has his wife retired? | Androcles | | | -- | #191, | Windows Vista. Because it's time to refresh your hardware. Trust us. |

Hawking is in a wheelchair so he can't come to your house and bludgeon you. I guess you've not seen what that chair can do flat out. |
