If as they say the Earth's core is rotating faster than
the outer portions wouldn't it transmit causing the day to get shorter? |

The day is really getting longer due to the effects of tidal friction slowing the rotation down. But don't expect to notice it very much. |

Interesting, but at only 0.3 to 0.5 degrees per year, it's a very small, but yet significant, difference. Besides, it says the outer core seems to act as a buffer, decoupling its motion from the mantle. But it's interesting nevertheless. |
