Default Earth Core Rotating Faster

If as they say the Earth's core is rotating faster than
the outer portions wouldn't it transmit causing the day
to get shorter?

Actually, just the opposite is true. The day is really getting longer
due to the effects of tidal friction slowing the rotation down. But
don't expect to notice it very much.

Interesting, but at only 0.3 to 0.5 degrees per year, it's a very
small, but yet significant, difference. Besides, it says the outer
core seems to act as a buffer, decoupling its motion from the mantle.
But it's interesting nevertheless.
