Default is the speed of light really constant (answer to Bob Kolber)

Answer to Bob Kolber (see question below)

There are today several arguments speaking in favour
of a privileged aether frame. These a the anisotropy
of the 2.7°k microwave background, the anisotropy of
the redshift of many distant galaxies, the muon flux
anisotropy. All these astronomical observations are
in agreement with one another and permit to attest
that the absolute velocity of the Earth is of the order
of 300km/sec with respect to the absolute aether frame.
If one assumes that the speed of light is isotropic with
respect to the aether frame, one must explain why it is
systematically found to be constant in the Earth
frame. The explanation is found when one considers
that in the Earth frame the measurements are distorted
by length contraction, clock retardation, and because
of the synchronization procedure with light signals
(or by slow clock transport which is equivalent).
The demonstration of this result is given in my paper
"How the apparent speed of light invariance, follows
from Lorentz contraction" in my web site
http://www.levynewphysics.com,
or more explicitely in my book "From Galileo to Lorentz
and beyond, publisher Apeiron, web site http://redshift.vif.com
available at Amazon and Blackwell web retailers.
The direc measure-ments of the one way speed of light
by Marinov, Coupled mirrors experiment and toothed
wheels experiment, are in complete agreement with the
astronomical observations.

We now know that the speed of light is not really
constant.

Can you show circumstances where light in a vacuum travels at various
speeds? Please supply references to experiments which show this.

It is erroneously found to be constant because of
three kinds of systematic measurement distortions
entailed by length contraction, clock retardation,
and arbitrary clock synchronization.

Utter nonsense

There's no "aether" in there at all. This is merely a measurement of
earth's velocity relative to a primordial local rest frame of all the
"stuff" that generated the CMBR and the galaxies.

Supposedly aether carries the light rays. This is no implication at all
for the SOURCES of those light rays (which have redshifted to become the
CMBR). And certainly no implications on massive objects like galaxies.

Now you are free to GUESS that the primordial aether was at rest wrt the
primordial stuff. But that is a GUESS, not a deduction from a theory.

Any aether theory with those properties predicts that the motion of any
apparatus wrt the aether frame cannot be measured. You can, of course,
easily measure the speed of earth wrt a bunch of primordial sources, but
that is NOT wrt the aether frame.

Any aether theory that predicts motion wrt the aether frame cannot be
observed is doomed. Nobody will ever accept an aether theory without
experimental proof, and such a theory predicts such proof cannot be had.

[I mean among physicists, of course. Fools and idiots will
accept anything.]

Marinov goofed. Big time. Look in the literature for repetitions of his
experiment that voided his initial result. And discussions of why his
measurement was flawed (air currents).
