Well, yes, you can make that claim. Only problem is that they
*aren't* ternary systems. The masses required are F class stars.
Which are unmistakable. And have been looked for, and not
found, for 40 years.


In the case of Di Herculis, the companion star is predicted to be
separated by a maximum of 0.02" from the binary, and would be of 12th
magnitude, meaning that it would be quite lost in the glare of the 8th
magnitude binary. Current observational techniques aren't up to
resolving such a system.


That conclusion is based upon the light-limitation. Not on the orbital
dynamics. In other words, its an ad hoc avoidance of the problem.
