Dear bob:
wrote in message . .. mass is infinite http://home.earthlink.net/~expandingearth/mass.JPG Mass is less than enough to keep a spiral galaxy together on its own (apparently). Mass is less than enough to contain expansion. Mass is *not* infinite. David A. Smith |

Dear bob: wrote in message . .. mass is infinite http://home.earthlink.net/~expandingearth/mass.JPG Mass is less than enough to keep a spiral galaxy together on its own (apparently). Mass is less than enough to contain expansion. Mass is *not* infinite. Without stating what mass is being refered to then that is not altogether clear. If he is refering to the mass of the universe and (1) The universe is spatially open (2) The cosmological principle is valid (3) The average mass density of the universe is finite then there is an infinite amount of mass in the universe - all of these assumptions are quite possible too. In the diagram he drew it appears as if he is not refering to mass but mass density. Pmb |
