Default United Neutrinos & Dogma breaking news

In another article in Scientific American April 2003 (A back issue I
manage to get a few hours ago). I learned that an electron neutrino is
really a superposition of muon and tau neutrino and they change on
their way to earth. The Standard Model needs another enhancement to
accomodate for massed neutrinos. See this wonderful illustration:

You see. Rules are meant to be broken. In the genetics community.
Another dogma is falling... the junk DNA which was once called junk
has been found out to have important function as shown in the following:

http://www.imb.uq.edu.au/download/la...seenGenome.pdf

The Institute for Molecular Bioscience has the entire Unseen Genome
article in the Scientific American Nov (this month) Edition at a web site.
In the article, it implicates the junk DNA to having a role in the overall
development of the organism and destroy the central dogma in genetics that
DNA code gets copied to RNA which create proteins that do all the work in the
body. Apparently, the junk DNA's RNA counterpart has some functions
that is not yet very understood. The article is great. I wonder when
the physics community would have another dogm a overturned, like maybe
one day finding out that bohms higher quantum order organizes the
lower particles and the world itself and is the mechanism of
interconnected that has far reaching implications in all department of
science.

Then you learned wrong. An electron neutrino (as well as a muon and a
tau neutrino) is a superposition of the three neutrino mass eigenstates,
not a superposition of the muon and tau neutrino.

and they change on
their way to earth.

And already in the sun.

The Standard Model needs another enhancement to
accomodate for massed neutrinos.

Right - a quite natural one. After all, this type of mixing has long
been known in the quark sector, and long has been suspected to occur in
the lepton sector, too.

I see no broken rules here.

*Some* parts of the so-called junk DNA has a function. I don't recall
any geneticist ever saying that *all* junk DNA has no function at all,
do you?

What has it to do with physics?

I wonder when
the physics community would have another dogm a overturned,

Perhaps in a few years - if the Higgs or supersymmetric particles aren't
found at the LHC, that surely would lead to a "dogma" overturned.

like maybe
one day finding out that bohms higher quantum order organizes the
lower particles and the world itself and is the mechanism of
interconnected that has far reaching implications in all department of
science.

What is this supposed to mean?

Bye,
Bjoern
