If I've heard correctly, free quarks can exist, but only when it's really
hot. Really REALLY hot. Like mind-bogglingly-beginning-of-the-universe hot. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. ~ Joshua Kyle Taylor wrote: Hi, Can free quarks exist? Meaning a stand alone quark that is separated from the 3 quarks that make up protons or neutrons? Let's say free quarks can exist and some float in the atmosphere. What theoretically would happen if you collide with them or breath them? Is there an instrument that can detect a free quark? Or how do you build an instrument to detect the existence of free quark in the atmosphere? Thanks Kyle -- Registered Linux User #225554! Remove "BURNINHELLSPAMMERS" from my e-mail to contact me.
