It makes no sense to reference empty space. Constant motion in your example is a flawed concept, any geodesic is constant motion in GR. My example is not flawed. Apparently you missunderstood my point. I said constant motion in reference to Newtonian physics. I afterward pointed out the corresponding relativistic concept which IS geodesic motion. I am not disagreeing.
