If I like to hang out with the guys---same thing--- nature programmed

When two impulses are competing such as "get up" or "stay in bed",
when the second impulse become stronger than the first I have no
choice, I behave as the second impulse dictates.

It's true that I feel that I am making conscious choices, and not just
having automatic programs kick in. *But I am not freely making these

had consciousness and freewill. *Why? Because such a program, while
"fooling" the robot, ie me, results in the best automatic responses
thus enhancing survival.

Upside down or doing! The problem with such machines is that we have
made them. When they are able to do everything for us, questions of
soul and consciousness will gradually fade, won't they?

Clever question! Maybe the machines will end up in mechanical
congress!

The Police ought to be able to stop such an outrage, when such things
begin to mate, though they would probably only mate at night when the
park was quite!

Children:
What's that noise, mother? Banging and hammering ... .

Mother:
Shush: it's the servitors! They are breeding!

Children:
We all ready have 30 postmen and 40 gardeners!

Dad:
Go to sleep, my darlings: you will awake to a better world!

I've gotten closer to this thinking in time. All that one really needs
beyond random motion and input is feedback to achieve some preset
goals. If dynamic goals can be established then the programmable model
seems nearly complete. Spirituality may be just another form of ego.
Materialism is plenty rich and so loaded with dynamics that we do not
understand so who are we to reject outright materialistic thinking?
Especially if the quantum paradigm is going to hold, where the random
doesn't just exist in us but in nature itself, then the image of the
human race is greatly diminished. This is as it should be, for look
what is going on in the human world. If we could start from an
accurate premise rather than premises such as
"Man is made in the image of God."
then we start to see man strangely enough as being more and more god
like in his progression.

Is the human an egotistical control freak by nature? Does the military
arms race speak for itself as a causal feedback loop? From the first
stone hurled and mimiced. From the first word spoken and mimiced. How
much of what we do is unique? How much is mimiced? Without the mimicry
there is no development, yet with it there is another cause of
despair. We should accept a compromised position as great apes
trainable into the worst of behaviors, under mass hypnosis without the
ability to discriminate. The truth does not come with a rosy
stipulation built in. There is no choice but to procede. So the
procession and progression looks promising even from this neutered
system. We are dynamic yet those dynamics may truly originate in
random seeds. Only a feedback procedure is needed and we clearly
exhibit strong feedback, to the point of locking onto false ideas and
holding them for millennia.
