Default Electrons bonding atoms

Chemists place an electron inbetween two nucleuses to bind two atoms.
Electrons are in motion in their shells so they cannot maintain a bond
that way. They would have to be stationary. The bond soon breaks when
the electron moves out from inbetween the two atoms toward the other
side.

Shells themselves bond and we do not understand the atom.

If you're looking for an alternate explanation of how chemical bonding
works, have a look at:

http://www.geocities.com/franklinhu/atmdetail2.htm

Basically, I explain that the electrons are bound in the nucleus in a
checkerboard pattern and that the bonding is formed by "docking" ports
created by parts of the atoms that are sticking out. The electrons do
not orbit the nucleus in the ground state or contribute exclusively to
the bonding.
