Sure.

Just assume that God and the Universe are identical.

That's acceptable.


Then science = religion.

That's not.

That's like saying "Human Being = Chimpanzee."

Universe is the name of the One by our modern culture, where as older
cultures named it God.

Universe and God are similar in an evolutionary context. The One
"evolved" into God for some people. And it evolved into the Universe
for others.

Science is a more highly evolved expression than religion. It is all
about a mathematical expression with predictive power.

Just like with the Human Being, there are mammalian parts and
reptilian parts, you can definitely argue that Science has
philosophical parts and theological parts.

But it also has parts that are unique to science, that make it a
different species in the same genus.
