Are gamma-rays slower than microwaves ? I wonder. You wonder but will you even bother to do the literature search? |

Did Einstein say a photon has proper mass ?
If so, where ? Did he venture to guess what it was ? |

Here's a thought: spend a little less time ****ing with your worthless hand-rolled client and breaking standards in your typical infuriating and purposeful manner, and more time doing literature searches before asking stupid questions. |

I think my “ Stupid ” question would be best answered by Peter Brown,
not Google. Pete does not approve of your attitude, Gisse. |

Hi Jeff I assume that you're referring to this question Did Einstein say a photon has proper mass ? I don't recall him saying it verbatim but I believe that he would say, if asked, that a photon has zero proper mass and mass due to its energy given by M = E/c^2. In fact Einstein was refering to the mass of light once when he wrote the comment "A beam of light carries energy and energy has mass." If so, where ? Did he venture to guess what it was ? You can't expect to look for modern terminology in days when the didn't use this modern terminology. If I come across a place where Einstein indicates that light has zero rest mass (aka proper mass) then I'll let you know. Pete |

So ( to recap ) you don't know if Einstein explicitly said
something like: “ Photons have no rest mass. ”. I can't believe he was silent on this matter. You told me: “ If I come across a place where Einstein indicates that light has zero rest mass ( aka proper mass ) [ or not ] then I'll let you know. ”. Thanks, that would be grand ! I love your non-judgmental attitude. |

I love your non-judgmental attitude. Thanks Jeff. I appreciate that. I see no reason for being judgemental at all. It serves no purpose that I can see. It only does more to make people feel less free to askk questions, most of which are very legitimate as this one is. Best wishes Pete |
