Robert,

On David Adair as a POSSIBLE disinformation agent:

Remember Churchill's statement that some secrets are so important that they
must be protected by "a body-guard of lies."

If you read beyond the two sentences that you quote below from my email on
David Adiar's piece of writing on UFOs (that you sent Jack), you should be
able to see that Adair's phony story throws dust on two pieces of evidence
about UFOs already in the public domain:

1. Barry Goldwater's statements about being denied access to "above top
secret" information on UFOs by General Curtis LeMay and other Chiefs-of
Staff of the USAF.

2. Gordon Cooper's statement about his personal sightings of UFOs in Germany
in 1951, as well as his knowledge of other sightings reported by military
pilots and astronauts.

If Adair is not himself a disinformation agent -- but merely a loon or liar
(or both) -- then his writing is definitely useful for spreading
disinformation and creating more noise in which to bury the genuine UFO
signal.

Nuff said ;-)

Saul-Paul

Jack and Saul-Paul,

I read the interview with Adair, and I agree that not only is his story
wild, there seems no possibility at all that much of it could be true. The
idea that plain-clothes members of the military would stay in a small town
in Ohio and help a teenager launch full-sized rockets from his back yard -
that is totally non-believable! Even if his wild claim were true of having
invented an "Electromagnetic Fusion Containment engine", they would test it
in some desert test range somewhere, not in his front and back yards. It
might blow up the whole town!

But why do you assume that he might be a "disinformation agent"? The world
is full of loons and liars, and has been throughout all history. Why assume
this is clever, orchestrated "government misinformation," when all we have
is a little nobody trying to puff himself up into a big somebody before
naive and credulous people, to sell books and lectures?

best,

Robert Sheaffer

Jack,

I have read the interview with David Adair, and he is definitely a
phony--and perhaps a disinformation agent.

Many things he says seem wild, but I can't check them out in any reasonable
time.
