Default Schrödinger's Cat

Was Schrödinger specific as to what /species/ of cat should be used in his
proposed _thought_ experiment?

Yes. It would only work with a certain type of cat, with a weight between 6
and 7 lbs, and white with brown fur.

Also, the cat must be quiet when placed into a box, lest his yowls as he
dies ruin the experiment. :-)

Default Randomness is nothing but a _Failure_ to measure.

Hi Het_Ware, You asked:

Was Schrödinger specific as to what _Species_ of cat should be used
in his proposed _thought_ experiment ?

No, but Schrödinger and his cat must have ingested a lot of strange herbs,
because randomness is nothing but a _Failure_ to measure.

As I said...

While the spin of the earth and it's path around the sun are well known,
a priori, the spin of a photon and its path are _Never_ fully known,
even after it's, ahem, measured.

So... The key to understanding cosmology and TOEs is noting that
nothing is intrinsically random; instead, some things are simply unknown,
given _Today_'s best observations/theories.

Einstein said _True_ theorists are serious metaphysicists:

Every _True_ theorist is a kind of tamed metaphysicist,
no matter how pure a positivist he may fancy himself.
[ ... He believes in ]
a conceptual system built on premises of great simplicity.

He also said Physical processes determine absolutely everything:

But the scientist is possessed by the sense of universal causation.
The future, to him, is every whit as necessary and determined as the past.
