[1] Contact at the atomic level is slightly illusory because
of position uncertainty, plus things such as the Pauli
Exclusion Principle.

[2] "Biological": of or relating to carbon-based life forms.
(For the most part.) Since carbon is a Real Atom (if
you doubt this just visit So. Cal right now! :-) ) I fail
to see how one *avoids* contact, except with a high-quality
vacuum pump or a good rocket.

[3] The term "Inter_net" has no intrinsic meaning. The
Internet (the correct spelling), of course, is
an interesting medium which is detailed in various
specifications at http://www.ietf.org/rfc.html, among many
other places.

[4] "Tone" refers to sonic vibrations, which are basically
longitudonal waves through a fluid. (Longitudonal and
transverse vibration in a solid is also possible.)
Since a fluid or solid contains atoms the question is
not clear, unless one postulates one group of atoms
hitting another, in which case the tones are highly
dependent on a large number of factors.
