Time dilation = clock malfunction.
not all clocks malfunction alike. not opinion, FACT. Wake up. stop eating the crap. "Spud" wrote in message m... Thanks to all for replies/opinions any more? Spud |

Dear Spaceman:

Sundials! that's it. we need to try sundials in space. Maybe bromate based clocks! How about mouse heartbeats, I'm sure thay are regular enough for Spaceman's use. And pendulum clocks, we just need to accelerate them uniformly enough that they keep good time. And quartz clocks, there's a classic!, yes they only showed a 10^-8 secular variance in reading over a year we *should* go back in time so that Spaceman can die happy. Grow up Spaceman. The clocks we use are the most accurate we can devise. I know this is just your automated news voice posting and not a real person... but do you ever think about what you let it post? David A. How about mouse heartbeats, I'm sure thay are regular enough for Spaceman's use. Depends. Do we allow them to exercise? And pendulum clocks, we just need to accelerate them uniformly enough that they keep good time. Put them in a space wheel a la _2001_ and turn it. :-) [rest snipped] When we take clocks into space we have varying results. The cuckoo clock has stopped, the water clock is leaking, the sundial is giving unintelligible readings, and the mouse's heart is pounding due to the unexpected stress of weightlessness! The quartz and atomic clocks may seem to be constant, until compared to clocks on the ground. Is the difference due to SR and GR, or something else about the changed environment of space affecting them? Is increased radiation a factor? Each clock measures a process that is not immune to the influences of its environment. Clocks can only be compared to other clocks. There is no way to be sure that you are ever actually measuring time itself. Double-A |

Spud...
A suggestion... Listen to all opinions and understand that this is the UseNet and, in being open to all, will have many that know of which they speak and others that have large amounts of brain damage... Before wasting too much time in following anyone do a UseNet search using some of the names of the players to see their history before you give them much credence. I have been around the net for a while and some names that I personally think have the mental abilities of a sponge are... Spaceman, Smart 123, Retic, , EdConrad, TJ Frazer... There are others that have a tad more functioning synoptic connection but not many, and there are some that show signs of absolute brilliance.. I'll let you figure out which are which..
