Default Definition of the term "Internet Slime"

I propose a new term to describe a certain behaviour on the internet which
we've all grown to hate. The term is "Internet Slime" and is defined as
follows.

Internet Slime - This consists of posts which have been repeated, more than
twice, of the exact same material, or material of a nearly identical
content, by the same person who chooses to use different names in such a
manner as to prevent a user from blocking the material. Or it is the same
material posted by different users. This shall include, but shall not be
limited by, users who post these messages and refuses to respond to
criticism.

If there is any uncertainty in what constitutes "Internet Slime" then I
propose as the model for "Internet Slime" the posts by HE Retic such as the
following. These threads are less as examples as they are definitions.

"The Error in Relativistic Physics"
"Can the Second Law of Thermodynamics be Circumvented?"
"The Nature of Mass"
"Evidence of the Existance of the Aether"
"Do Virtual Photons Exist?"
"The Scarcity of Life Bearing Planets"
"The Flaw of High Energy Physics"
"Measuring Our Absolute Velocity"

Or any threads of a repeated topic by reticher )

Note that the most clearly definining characteristic is the impossibility of
blocking this "internet slime" where the person wishes to force this on
others.

All in favor say Aye

I can block everything by never looking at a newsgroup. The point is
not what the user is able to do to figure out how to block someone but
the invasive personality of the person who wishes to force themselves
on you. And "H.E. Retic" is a perfect example of that.

Default Why Complain ?

Hi Pete , [ PMB , Gauge ]
You ask if I hate
" the invasive personality " of people like H.E. Retic .

Because I can easily block people like him ,
I almost never see such posts .

So I never complain about them . Why Complain ?

Sure , I've said bad things about Uncle Al ,
But that was just for fun , I don't even block his posts .

Smart, Retic, and ThomasL all have distinctive personalities, so your filter
is blocking at least four different people. [Smart is so crazy I think he
already counts as two.]

Could you interpret what the filter parameters mean? It looks pretty
coarse-grained to me.

You've described to me how to block those and I tried to follow your
description for OutLook Express. However your description didn't work since
you described things which weren't in my software.

So I never complain about them . Why Complain ?

If one never does anything to stop things which are irritating they will
never go away. Recall a famous saying

"The only thing necessary for evil to flourish is for good men to do
nothing." - Edmund Burke
