Has a space probe ever been sent out of the planetary plane?
So for example a probe is launched from earth, decelerated relative to the earths rotation about the sun, then accelerated over the 'top' of the sun, perpendicular to the plane of the planets. Maybe that takes too much fuel so can't be done. I am interested for the sake of verifying the isotropic nature of space. The polysigned model of spacetime suggests a line crossed with a plane as a basis. That could be interpreted as nonisotropic. If I were to take that basis literally at a macro level it could coincide with the disc effects at large scales. It's a bit simplistic, but the basis does suggest a rotational plane. -Tim |

FWIW One could use the gravity of a planet to alter the probe's orbit
outside the plane. |

Yup. That's what they did with Ulysses.
