Default magnetic field

Hi all,

What is the relative permeability of blood, water, fat for mangetic
field? I cannot find any figures about this and what is the effects of the
magnetic field in blood, water and fat?
Thank you very much!

Wayne

Organic substance does not have constant permeability!

Look up the parameters for magnetic resonance imaging. You can find
tabulated values for magnetic susceptibility for the stuff as such or
for model compounds. Or ask the instrument manufacturers (big honker
Gouy balances are displaced by little electronic marvels). Or do it
yourself.

The magnetic susceptibility of blood depends upon its oxygenation
(venous or arterial) and redox state (e.g., ferrihemoglobin content).
Magnetic permeabilty is generally tabulated for ferrites and ferrous
alloys. Biologicals absent paramagnetic ions (including implants,
stainles steel surgical clips and sutures, tattoo pigments, and
piercings) will mostly look like vacuum.
