Arnold Neumaier of Institut fur Mathematik of U. Wien (Vienna) in "On a
realistic interpretation of quantum mechanics," quant-ph/9908071 v1 22
Aug 1999, began a series of papers that proposed considerable
modifications in quantum theory and even in Heisenberg's Uncertainty
Principle (HUP) although Neumaier continued to believe in the
mathematics of the HUP mostly.

The paper cited can be summarized briefly and roughly as:

A. Pro-simultaneity, even for "conjugate" events/processes
B. Pro-joint probability density functions (pdfs) even for "conjugate"
events/processes
C. Pro-Experiment and Pro-Meaning (even the "persistence" of meanings
of non-measured and non-observed quantities) as more fundamental than
measurement/observation.
D. Anti-Markov (so anti-conditional probability basically)
E. Pro-trajectory as opposed to "diffuse" in the context of C above.

Neumaier, incidentally or not, from the logo on various of his papers,
is pro-Religious, though undoubtedly not Bureaucratic. I suspect that
Non-Bureaucratic Religion is one of the secrets of Austria's Creative
Genius from the Classical Music Era through Schrodinger and beyond
(Schrodinger had no formal Religion although his ancestors far back
were probably Catholic, but his life demonstrates what I call a Private
Religious Experience somewhat like Einstein's).

I may have left out one or two important points here.
