How in the hell could you possibly know
what I do or don't know about daemon programs ?

Because you don't handle a context switch.

In my book ... You have zero credibility .

Good. That means that I know what I'm talking about.

Hi Hanson ,
You quote Prof. Fraunfelder :
" It's all just a game ...
It's all just a game ...
It's all just a game . "

It's worst than that :
Nature is running the casino ,
And in the long run ,
The house always wins .

......aye certainly, broser Jeff,.... because.....
" It's all just a game ... It's all just a game
.... It's all just a game".....
AHAHAHAH.........ahahahanson

Hi ,
You say :
" Perhaps you should find out what a daemon is
in the computing biz . "

Oh right ... You think you're the only one who knows
what a daemon means in the computer world ...
What a ****ing prick !

AHAHAHH.......ahhahahaha......
Jeff, I don't think she has one.
She's an old yiddishe yenta in a wheelchair.
Probably in pain and hence quite cranky.
So,.... Let'em sing!......All of them.....it's a beautiful choir!
hahahah.....hahahahanson

We're counting on you for back-up hysterics, big guy.
Life must really be good for you.

Oh, yes, siree bob, it certainly is and mostly was.
I was once, like most of you, uptight and unhappy.
Back then, one day my advisor began preaching constantly:
"It's all just a game....it's all just a game ....it's all just a game".
We squirts decided that the old fart had gone ape**** and
fallen victim to his approaching geriatric condition.
However, in time the essence of his "....it's all just a game"
began to sink in and not taking things (too) seriously made
life MUCH more enjoyable, accompanied by lot of laughs
AHAHAHAH.........ahahahaha..........hahahanson

PS: Lots of posthumous thanks, Prof. Fraunfelder,
....you played a great game....

"You don't stop playing because you get old. You get old because you stop playing."

I'm sure that must be a t-shirt slogan, but it's still true.

Yo, Big E!,
I don't think it is used as a slogan yet.
Not bad. It has a swinging ring to it.
Copy write it and sell it to a Print-T-shirt company.
You ought to be able squeeze a few easy bucks out of them.
Good luck, dude,

Default Simplifying Physics .

Hi Jim , [ ghytrfvbnmju7654 ]
Of Hawking you say :
" Even the brightest minds make mistakes
when they try to over-simplify things
for the general public . "

Hawking has given up on trying to unify the forces .
He's decided that trying to unify them
only makes them more complex ...
As Gödel's theorems would suggest .

But it's always possible to simplify physics .
But there's a cost ... of course .

I'll let you dig into the gritty details ... Have at it .
I like the simpler aspects of metaphysics and cosmology .

Default The Thrill of Living .

Hi Gregory L. Hansen ,
You say :
" You don't stop playing because you get old .
You get old because you stop playing . "

I like the way John Cougar Mellencamp put it :

" Life goes on ...
long after the thrill of living is gone . "

A current picture of Mellencamp :

Unification is not simplification.

Note that Newtonian physics is used
to calculate 99.44% of mechanical models,
and Faraday-Maxwell-Ohm-Kirchoff physics
is used to calculate 99.44% of the electro-magnetic models.

Unification, and modeling unneeded, unverifiable,
and unachievable physical models,
are a waste of time and money,
and allow model snake oil salesmen to
waste billions of the taxpayer's dollars.

The use of unified and elegant models
for most situations,
is like calculating a measurement to ten decimal places,
and using an ax to make the cut.

It reminds me of how NASA spent a million dollars
to develop a pen that would work in space,
and Russia used a 2 cent pencil.
