Descartes:

* claimed that objects always have a speed, sometimes that speed has a
magnitude of zero = rest.

* developed the concept of motion in terms of velocity (speed and direction)
through the use of inclined planes.
*developed the idea of force, as a cause for motion.
*determined that the natural state of an object is rest or uniform motion,
i.e. objects always have a velocity, sometimes that velocity has a magnitude
of zero = rest.
*objects resist change in motion, which is called inertia.

Objects resist change in motion is resistance to impulsive force.
But gravity is allready in mmotion and gravity has no impulsive
resistance exsist in bouyancy.
relitive motion is the energy exchange.
Sound is C waiting for mass to move .

It is nice to see some true statements posted here for a change!

The interest in theories where you don't have to solve pages after
pages of equations first is rather limited.
The interest in discoveries where no cryogenic magnets, cryogenic
resonators, megajoule and/or femtosecond lasers, high energy particles
are involved is also limited.
