I've heard of people being driven insane (for real) by thinking too
much about physics and the philosophy of physics. I was wondering if
anyone has heard of such a thing and knows some names of people or
stories they could share. Thanks...

Well, myself and my fellow physics students used to often joke that we were at
times suffering from brain overload which we called "Physics Madness Syndrome"
which at times actually did seem worse than the other equavalent acronym that
50 percent of the human population suffers from

take care

I believe that 50% of the Physics PHDs are completely nuts.
The other 50% are Brilliant.
but this was a small sample size, I worked with about 8.
And when they are nuts, I mean really zapped, very tight do-loops,
squirrels-ville.
Also, I don't think Physics is directly the cause of it.

There is one possibility who posts in this newsgroup--who at one
time did productive work in physics, but most of the cranks and
trolls posting here failed to learn much physics.

Oh nooo, just the opposite. Insane people do not think enough about physics
or the philosophy of physics. Will E.

Make that 100% of them were brilliant with 4 of them
nuts and 4 of them sane ;-)
