Over the past weeks. I have successfully downloaded in the net many major physics books worth over $10,000 and the entire Scientific American magazine archives from 1993 to 2006 including all special editions. I'll share with you how. It's very simple Why didn't someone tell me this before. The following is the partial list of books in just one file of the thousands available. Instructions of how to download is in the bottom. It has to do with the amazing internet thing called torrent where in addition to downloading all movies, you can get ebooks, audio books, etc. 1.43 gig file "physics and mathematics ebook collection" (complete ebooks with identical contents to the books you get at amazon.com) containing: Griffiths D.J. Introduction to electrodynamics ( 3ed., PH, 1999)(T)(596s).djvu Griffiths D.J. Introduction to elementary particles (Wiley, 1987)(T)(405s).djvu Griffiths D.J. However, you can simply download one book without the rest. In the Bitlord client. Go to files and choose the book, for example "Jackson J.D. Classical electrodynamics" or Griffiths Introduction to Quantum Mechanics" and "disable" the others. Now to download the entire Sci-Am issues from 1993 to 2006 (yes, all colored mag the same as each monthly issues being sold at newstand). Go to www.demonoid.com login using any anonymous email or account. Search for "SCI AM ARCHIVES 1993 TO 2006 INCLUDING ALL SPECIAL EDITIONS" or just "Sci-Am" where many other files will come up like "Frontier of Physics special edition" It's so incredible. Imagine owning each issue. Note only demonoid.com needs to login, the other sites need not require any logging in. You can download at www.torrentreactor.net the file "A nice collection of math books" with the following book listings in just one file about 500Meg. I just found all this so amazing. Torrent is like the gift of knowledge. Come on. You can't expect us to spend our money buying all of them worth over $10,000. Not all of us have millions of $$$ like Old Man. Also the free ebooks and mags are useful for anyone especially uneducated crackpots like Newedena and plain newbies. To all crackpots (newedena, fleming, retic, etc.) There is no more excuses for ignorance. All of the references are available for free now. A good printer to print them is the HP Laserjet 1010. I have already printed over 3000 pages and the toner is still as good. If you have any questions about downloading them and especially sharing new ebook file or archives. Let me know. Onward to greater knowledge! All that is remaining is to read them. Right now. There are just so many to download in the torrent like movies and TV specials (for example all Nova specials) that I found myself spending a lot of time watching the shows and listening to the audio ebooks. And yes, all the Feynmann books (and audio lectures) are also available. Here is the list of torrents I visited: www.torrentspy.com www.torrentreactor.net isohunt.com thepiratebay.org demonoid.com etc. Btw, in case you don't know how torrent works. It's like this. All the files are NOT stored in any of the above sites. They are all stored in the computers of the downloaders. The above sites just "tracks" them. For example. When I downloaded the Feynman Lectures of Physics Vol 1 - 3 at isohunt.com I didn't get it from the sites but from the computers of say 15 downloaders who at the same time is uploading the files to me. The popular files are always available because many new ones are downloading them and uploading them. Btw.. The ones who got the complete files in their computers are called Seeders. You can get more information in the www.bitlord.com Well. A year ago I heard of torrent but I didn't download the bitlord or azureus client and so can't download the files after the icon is saved to the desktop. I thought they were defective. I just learnt about how to download 3 weeks ago. At that time, I didn't even think that those torrents hold valuable collections of physics ebooks and major magazines. Btw.. I also downloaded the entire weekly New Scientist online issues of 2005. It's amazing. Lastly. I'm sure many of you would say this is piracy and I've been thinking whether to post this thing or not. But judging by so many uneducated crackpots who are lost. This message can help them get to the right path and avoid wasting a lifetime of delusional beliefs and fallacy. It is for this reason that sharing this informaiton is justified. Torrent may be basic information to many of you but there are some who may not be aware of it. And to those cyber patrol tracking us. I downloaded from Cybercafe with fast dsl, put all the files in DVD. Print them at home. Formatted my hard drive. Put the 3000 pages printed material at a safe place. So try to find the rest of the millions of downloaders if you wanna catch them. For those nervous. Download at cybercafe too, put the files in DVD blanks and you are safe. Regards, Know edge P.S. If you come across other good physics files in torrent format or others, pls. share it here or email me privately. |

Some of the above books my be Hobba or Hansen level and quite
hard for newedena or other self-taught newbies unless you are good in basic calculus. In the demonoid.com torrent site, there is a 3 meg file called Algebra + Calculus Demystified. It is high quality original ebooks with the same contents as: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/007...lance&n=283155 There are also many interesting video lectures on calculus and precalculus such as TTC Calculus Made clear by Michael Stabird at www.torrentspy.com, a most wanted file as well as Calculus Crash Course. Just search under "calculus" in any of the torrent sites for the lectures and ebooks. Pls. share the most interesting one as there are hundreds of them and I can't download all. Remember that those files are not located in any sites. This means after some time and people no longer download them. They are no longer available as you can only get them while the people computers have the files being downloaded and uploaded so don't wait when you see stuff you like. But most of the time popular files such as Feynman Lectures of Physics vol 1-3 are constantly available because people continue to download them. Note the site demonoid.com may occasionally report registration full but try again after a few hours and you can already register using hotmail or anything and thereby gain access to the sites. The reward would be the access to the entire Sci-Am issues from 1993 to 2006. The colorful illustration in the physics articles is just amazing. Know edge wrote: Griffiths D.J. The trouble is its not so pleasant to read from a computer screen, a book. -- That's why I print them using HP laserjet 1010 which can print over 5000 pages. But if one can afford it. Of course it is best to buy the books esp. if you'll bring them to schools. For colored pages. There is the new continuous ink tank system where they put external bottles that are connected using small hose to the cartridge head of an Epson or cannon printer. That way, you can print the entire 1993-2006 Scientific American issues for only $5 for the external ink. Well. Lecture audios are what many students mainly got from Torrent. Although I heard of torrent a year ago. I avoided it because I thought you only get movies there. When I tried to search for physics videos, I came across the magazines and books and audios. I know most would go to the normal path of buying the books but for some of us, we may not have budgets for over $5000 physics and math books and torrent (plus HP laserjet 1010 or 1020) is our friend. In China you can buy these "continuous ink" systems for almost any kind of printer, including printers, like the H-P printers, that have the print head in the cartridge. They come with enough ink to print thousands of pages and sell for about $10.00 for the Epson printers, and about $15.00 for the printers, that have the print head in the cartridge. And of course, all you have to do when you run out of ink, is pour in some more. The folks that use these systems, tell me that the print heads are good for thousands of pages. There are millions of colorful billboard signs in China, and the companies that print these use these inking systems. I had one of my photos printed on a 4 foot by six foot board for about ten bucks. If frazir and reff shipped a boat load of these systems to the U.S., they would make a killing. Of course, Bush and Company are anxious to force China to raise the prices on all the goodies they are selling to America, so in a year or so, fewer Chinese will have good jobs, and Americans will be deprived of many great products. -- Tom Potter http://home.earthlink.net/~tdp/ http://tdp1001.googlepages.com/home http://no-turtles.com http://www.frappr.com/tompotter http://photos.yahoo.com/tdp1001 http://spaces.msn.com/tdp1001 http://www.flickr.com/photos/tom-potter/ http://tom-potter.blogspot.com |
