Who can't tell 16 from 32 as g.

Who can't grasp calculus or it's real world applications.

I think Shead is really Spaceman. Spaceman insisted that -4 * -4 = -16.
Shead insists that 16 = 32. Same sort of error.

Perhaps you would be kind enough to let us know which bridges
you were involved in the design of.

Perhaps:

He means he used to set up bridge games in the school
lounge for everyone who was skipping English class.

By "retired" he means that the school finally booted
him off campus.

****Head claims to have designed ornamental ironmongery. You may now
thank chemists for rust.

As general rule, rust doesn't work very well.......

I think it has been established that he specialized in railings, lampposts,
and the like. To be allowed to design the load-bearing members of a bridge,
one would have to pass an examination in the interests of public safety.
Passing that examination with no knowledge of calculus would be a challenge.

Sometimes they still didn't get it right:

Actually, many of his posts seem to have been constructed by
cut and paste. So he's not really that prolific.
