All they saw was - as the voice over stated - a "radiant light".

People convinced themselves that they were seeing something else.

All the images offered by the media after the event were artists
impressions.

Not one was an actual photograph.

So perhaps they were all hallucinating, or they wanted that "radiant
light" to be what they claimed it to be.

Yes. They are known as "believers". There are over a billion Muslim
people who "believe God will reward men with 72 virgins in heaven".
"Believers" who smell roses when there are none and visions that are
