The US is the most coward nation in this world when it used the atomic
bombs to killed innocent people during the second world war. Why punch
below the belt? Although there was no rule in a war or we are not
talking about the soldiers in this war or that Japan is good or bad.
If US planes can penetrate into the heartland of Japan, couldn't it
use more planes to knock off the military target?
End justified the means? We are talking about hundreds of thousands of
innocent people here, unarmed !

I agree with you. The USA is currently going after WMDs that just don't
exist, while we continue to maintain the largest arsenal of WMDs ourselves.

Where are these nonexistent weapons?

In Cheney and Bush's imagination.

No, "people in science" *don't* think that. Fundies think people in
science think that.

BULL****!!!

You can't fool us with that tripe! People in "science" DO think like
that! One need look no farther than the mindless support for various
political theories (such as "evolution") to prove you a liar, to the
point where even MENTION of doubt or contradicting data is reason to
lose your job,. Please take time to view the Ben Stein documentary
"Expelled" and then get back to us. And that is just ONE example.
There are numerous "forbidden" topics in science. And you are right in
there by bringing religion into science! Shame on you!

But let's ask a serious question here. WHY do "people in science"
think they know it all? The answer is very enlightening. First off,
it has to do with the fact that "people in science" get paid, and
often paid well, for what they "know". The assumption, not entirely
false, is that "people in science" somehow have a better and more
accurate understanding of how the world works. While that may not be
true in some subject areas (such as politics) it is true in many areas
of material objects. However, if a person is being paid for "what they
know", the natural tendency is going to be to promote yourself to keep
your job and to advance. Therefore, the natural tendency is to act as
if you "know the answers" to everything! Sorry, I've been there and
it's the natural sales pitch. How are you going to keep that big
salary by saying "Gosh, I don't understand ANYTHING about the
universe!"? Same goes in education. LOTS of questions are easily
asked by students that can stump the smartest "science people" on the
planet. But a professor is PAID to KNOW the "answers". Hence, they
develop this whole host of defensive mechanisms to back off student
questions and give the appearance of omniscient knowledge. Obviously
it's mostly a snow-job and in my experience, the LESS the "educator"
knows the larger and more all-encompassing the snow-job!

And WHAT lies as a fault at the bottom of all this? My conclusion is
that it is GOVERNMENT! In the old days, science and teaching was a
poor but honest profession. One did it for LOVE of science. Not
knowing was a DRIVING force of motivation. But WWII and the Atomic
Bomb changed all that. Government and politics came to realize that
there was POWER to rule others inherent in scientific knowledge. So
there came a massive infusion of tax money into science to attempt to
extract some of that power! This had a number of unintended
consequences. One of those was that big money attracted a bunch of
incompetent clowns into science who really should have been carpenters
or plumbers. Another was the loss of scientific data and real advances
under the secrecy of "classification". And another was the hubris I
covered above. Big money, means you take the means to protect your
"interests". And if that means a "know it all" sales pitch, then so be
it. Sure, it's a lie. But hey aren't most sales pitches lies?

Yet religious fruitcakes think they know everything, including where
we came from and where we're going.

As apparently so do you! Why do you think your faith-based physics is
so different from any of the other religions you hate?
Hey, junior, please tell me the story of the "Big Bang" again!

This is what I am talking about. We do not know a lot. You just want

Next million years? Hey what did it learn in the LAST million years? A
bunch of ways to empty the planet of humanity?
Sorry no dual Nobel Prizes for you THIS year!

There should not be double talk here.
We know one ancient "person" called Jesus was a human and dead as a
human. This is a fact.
But some think or believe he was the son of god and will resurrect.
Are we suppose to know this untruth as truthful? Care to share the
basis that can be logical, even to your children?

I just LOVE it when all the commie-atheists come crawling out of the
woodwork spouting all their religious dogma! Come on bunkies, atheism
is a RELIGION too!!! [a system of belief, based on faith] You are as
bad as the "fundies"! Worse probably because you THINK you are
"better" than them.

All you lefties go on and on about how religion is all "myth" and
"fairytales", yet you use your political power to enforce with relish
all your faith-based dogma. Evolution isn't a theory! It is TRUTH! It
has no data that brings it into question...just examine any "peer-
reviewed" journal. See anything suggesting doubt in there? The "Big
Bang" is the ultimate "creation story", nobody is allowed to doubt
it! Everything in the universe happens by chance, right? EVERYBODY
knows that is FACT! I'm just wondering how you got such advanced
knowledge. I suspect maybe Jesus told you, but you forgot to mention
that to us!

As far as I can see if we put all the Fundies and all the Atheists
into a bag and threw them into the ocean like unwanted cats, science
would finally be ready for some real advances.

Here's the deal. Religion is a series of suggestions on how things
work. There are no proofs, it is presented on the basis of "faith".
Faith has no place is science. Faith undermines science by a priori
rejecting data that doesn't fit that "faith". Therefore the ONLY
proper role of religion in science is to provide a list of proposals
to TEST by EXPERIMENT! To demand that science blindly accept proposal
without experiment or proof as the Fundies and Atheists insist, is to
destroy science.

Dogma is the opposite of an open mind. And thinking you "know it all"
the ultimate closed mind attitude!

And the way you know this is? Oh that's right the Leftist Democratic
Central Committee told you it was true and you took it on faith! I
love to see Fundy thinking!

In the meantime please take time to explain to us all where the WMDs
that WE gave to Saddam are now? Oooo! Now that's one to worry about
for a while, isn't it? Syria maybe?

be doing research.
