Hi all,
I know the standard derivations for radiation of an accelerated point charge: either by working out nonrelativistic dipole radiation or by deriving Lienard-Wiechert potentials and then going to the limit v/c-0. However, I've heard of some other nice way to look at this: by considering a moving charge in external fields and using the equation of motion (Laplace force). Somehow, one should be able to derive d/dt(W), and the correct larmor expression. Any ideas? Samuel |
