Default What is 1D/System CFD?

When explaining what 1D CFD or System CFD is , i struggle to define it
clearly.

1D software include Pipeflow, Olga, Wanda and Flowmaster

Does anyone have a good description technically and in Layman terms to
describe this type of analysis?

Thank you in advance
