Default Proof Einstein was mad

What more proof do you need?

And this guy is regarded as one of the great minds of the 20th
Century? I don't think so.

Your cover is blown. If you are from the future, then the last sentence
should read "I know better." Of course even this would be untrue, since
you are talking to a 21st century audience, and Einstein is considered one
of the great minds of the 20th century.

David A. Smith

David,

I am not a time traveller. That was a silly joke. If I were a time
traveller I would be wooing Marilyn Monroe right now or something
equally productive.

As for Einstein, I don't think he was as great a mind as history does
accord. I'm not saying he wasn't intelligent or that had a closed-mind
(far from it) but his theory of relativity undermines his other
achievements.

His E=MC2 equation may hold some validity in the science world,
although I remain unconvinced coming up with some arbitrary value of
energy is that significant. Had Einstein said energy and mass are
equal to the speed of light to the power of three (and not two) the
results would be always be the same. The numbers would be increased
(because we have increased the value of C2), but the principle is the
same. As I wrote in another thread, how can we place definite values
on the energy of atoms? It's a fairly subjective claim to make. Is
there absolute proof that mass = energy x speed of light(2)? Is that a
fact of nature? You mustn't forget we place arbitrary units of
measurement on *everything*, eg: a foot is 12 inches. These are
*man-made* rules. One foot does not have to be 12 inches. It's not
defined by nature. I see E=MC2 as no different. However, I accept that
scientists have drawn upon his conclusions and see it as some model of
atomic measurement.

As for his relativity theory, well, without wishing to be unkind to a
deceased nobel prize winner, it is the stuff of crackpot inventors and
sci-fi writers.

All you need to do is fold time and space and we can have wormholes
says Einstein.

I'll bring my spade and start digging, Al!
