Gamma

I am a passenger on a spaceship named Frame1. We left earth (Frame0)
yesterday and accelerated to 150,000,000m/sec wrt Frame0. On earth,
our spaceship was built to be 1000m long.

As we continue to maintain our speed of 150,000,000m/sec, the Captain
tells us that our length as seen by earth would be 866m. He said that
the reduced length was the result of relativity. He said it could be
calculated by the gamma formula, ie
1000*sqrt(1-1500000000^2/300000000^2).

Did the Captain apply the formula correctly?

Why does an Earth observer's hypothetical measurement using a bogus equation
have any bearing on reality?

No changes occur in the spaceship's length or clocks due to its velocity.

Henri,

SR and Gamma are accepted by a great majority of physicists and are
taught by higher educational institutions as the correct state of
knowledge. Your objections according to the material you have
published lacks from simplicity and therefore can easily be faulted by
experts. You place much emphasis on your animated MMX demonstration
diagram. People may actually believe your clever program is meant not
only to replace MMX but to 'prove' with the power of the computer that
MMX has a rational null effect explanation. At best, the computer can
only illustrate a point, just as a drawing can. It cannot 'prove'
anything.
