Venus is a completely variable star; so,
its approx. relative brightness'd be easily determinable
by a view "from above" the ecliptic plane
of the inner solar system -- trigonometrically -- even if
JPL didn't bother with the "actual viewing conditions" on Moon.

so, where is the primal light-source for your ray-tracing
algorithm?... I mean,
you might have to re-take that trig course!
