| | All of us know that GR is a 'wonderful' theory which can predict with
| | 'amazing' accuracy the extra Mercury's perihelion precession,
| | among other 'phenomena'. We focus now on that extra precession,
| | which is observed to be about 43 arsec per century. GR claims that
| | extra precession is a real extra orbital motion. I'm going to show
| | that's
| | not the case, that it is only an apparent extra precession caused by
| | the gravitational lensing of light emitted by the Sun and reflected
| | off
| | by planet Mercury towards us.
|
| Ahahahahaha!
|
| 43 arc seconds in 415 orbits is 43 arc seconds in
|
| 415 * 360 degrees * 60 arc minutes * 60 arc seconds =
|
| 43 arc seconds in 537840000 arc seconds,
| or one part in 12,507,907.

| Not you, Le Verrier, Einstein or anyone else can be that
| accurate with 2 century old astrolabe mounted on a
| revolving and rotating platform (the Earth).
| Mercury's advance differs for every orbit as the other
| planets change position.
|
| I flipped a fair coin 415 times and it came up heads
| 208 times, tails 207, so the probability is 208/415 =
| 0.50120481927710843373493975903614 heads,
| or 1 part in 832.
| The slight discrepancy from 0.5 is caused by GR.
|
| Don't try to be a con artist like Einstein. Like you,
| he was never an astronomer, he was an astrologer.
|
| Dear Androcles,
| you are absolutely right. Anyway, are you sure gravitation
| is a fair coin?. I'd say it may be biased, depending on the
| amount of matter/energy distributed in a given region.
It doesn't matter, I deliberately chose an odd number to
cook the results and 415 happens to be the number of
orbits Mercury makes as Earth makes a hundred. I laughed
because you are doing much the same thing with your
gravitational lensing of light. Orbits are known to be
chaotic and there is no analytical solution to the three
body problem. If GR could do it then mathematicians
would be delighted. A nice model exists he

Of particular interest is example 8, a full orbit is completed
before the system degrades.
What with Jupiter, Earth (and its Moon) and Venus pulling
on Mercury it is quite impossible to analytically prophecy
where its perihelion will be 100 years from now, whatever
the prophet Einstein and his disciples predict. Blind faith
in the holy shaman has been with us since the pyramids and
Stonehenge were built, these neanderthals such as Fecal Jeckyl
of today are no different to their ancestors. In a different
society and a different age they'd be consulting the Oracle
at Delphi.
